A
year ago, when we formally re-launched Intervox Group at a gathering
of independent consultants, we declared our commitment to three
goals:
- Be widely recognized for
across-the-board contact center expertise;
- Be regarded as indispensable partners to
chief customer officers;
and
- Empower Affiliates to succeed --
their way.
While
we continue to vigorously pursue those goals, our immediate
priority continues to be to generate project work for our
Affiliates. Much of that project work originates from ...
Affiliates. Lori Bocklund is an industry veteran widely
recognized for the quality of her work, as both a consultant
and executive educator in call center strategy and practice.
Below, Lori relates how the synergies of our relationship
work for her.
For
those of you who want to "expand your market footprint," Marketing
Director Lon Hendrickson has created a comprehensive
set of collateral materials. Lon breifly describes these tools,
available in iCenter to registered affiliates.
We're
happy to report that we have four active clients engaging
the services of a dozen or more Affiliates. But we've barely
begun. Stay tuned!

John Reynolds, Founder and President

"Overcoming
Those "I'm not unemployed, I'm a consultant" Fears"
by Lori Bocklund, President, Strategic Contact,
Inc.
I
first began conversations with InterVox Group shortly
after founding Strategic Contact a year ago. After
11 years as a consultant with another small consulting
firm, I decided to venture out on my own. I had built
a reputation through writing, speaking, teaching,
and my project work, and it was time to put my own
reputation to the test.
When
John Reynolds and I first started talking, I expressed
a concern about a network of independent consultants.
I have a T-shirt with Dogbert sitting at a desk that
states "I'm not unemployed, I'm a consultant." It
is often good for a laugh - whether with others in
the consulting business, or those outside of it, who
know that any unemployed person - whether by choice
or not - can claim to be a consultant. I had seen
sub-contractors who did not measure up to client or
prime contractor expectations. This had certainly
not been a universal experience, but I knew too well
the possibilities. There are no certifications or
tests to prove the expertise and abilities of a consultant...

| The Tool Exchange |

The
web log, or "blog," has been very much in the
news recently as subject, reporter and medium. But
in addition to its recent role in news reporting and
political commentary, the blog has many useful applications
for us as consultants. Blogs can be an easy-to-manage
alternative to a client newsletter. They can be used
to create "mini-communities" around specific areas
of interest or practice, or to publish and discuss
new ideas or product concepts. You might even employ
blogging to communicate and report specific project
activities or status. And don't overlook the value
of blogs as a key information source for you in your
practice.
This month's free tool allows you to easily create
your own blogs and to manage your subscriptions to
others. Here is the link:
If
you have a favorite application or trick of the trade
that you'd like to share with the Affiliate community,
let us know at toolx@intervoxgroup.com
. The only requirement is that submissions be
in the public domain, and, naturally, we will let
your fellow Affiliates know whom to thank.
